shameless promotions

i was shocked to receive my first spam comment today! i have just stepped into blogging world and i had heard of these people leaving comments along with a link to visit or register somewhere. today a guy called lordrowin left a spam comment on my blog and told me MBB was not good enough!

i have deleted the comment promptly!

do you often receive spam comments? how do you react to them?

you can use comment moderation....that may help!
lordrowin has been around...he has been mad with mbb since they come up with the common theme idea

well, i usually leave spam comments when i'm too lazy to delete! i rarely get spam comments though!

spams should not be tolerated at all :p and wordpress does an excellent job

Miranda, I will only advise you not to be upset by the behaviour of the person who have mentioned. Some people have unique ways of promoting their blogs!

Yeah just pretend his comment is not there.

Enable comment moderation. if you're using wordpress, enable akismet plugin.it's pretty good against spam.

did any1 of you get the mauritian guitar tabs spam? i saw that for some other mauritian blogs

i got it too. 2 as comments and 2 on my shoutbox. deleted both shouts and i left one comment because the url was not good on that

freakin spam! i think the permission of the blog owner shoud at least be asked before spamming. he could hav given a relevant comment and then left his link

but i guess the spammer would not go as far as read you tag below to want to know your password. he is a busy man!
