Skeptics...

Today a friend (a mauritian blogger) came to chat with me on msn and asked me my opinion on MBB. He said he has carried a survey among mauritian bloggers and he concluded that the majority of mauritian bloggers are against the concept of MBB.

he further said that he particularly dislikes blogging on a common theme since it kills the originality of each post.

I wanted to know your opinion on this.

I think I was wrong so far to believe that MBB was a success. And what about blogging on a common theme?

I love MBB....

Blogging on a common post is great. It actually gives you ideas on what to post. But this does not mean that every time you have on a common theme. If you've noticed I blog only on themes that interest me.

The main reason I love MBB - I get to meet and appreciate Mauritian people who totally rock! We define the web. The skeptics need to get tased for all i care.

skeptics are great mbb rocks so much that some people have negative feelings towards it. i think this forms part of life. ying and yang. positive and negative energy. for us mbb is positive. for them not. we should respect their views but at the same time keep in mind that MBB is good.

the common theme is a fun idea. everyone twists the theme his own way and AFAIK it is not obligatory.

Moi jm MBB! Ek m super like sa zafer common theme la :-) Li actually interesting ek parfois, t kav mm ekrir sur things ki zamais to ti pu pense ekrir. And as for the forums, mne meet boku mauritian bloggers!!!

why ask if someone is for or against mbb? are they trying to repress mbb because it is too bad for national security?

Well, usually when something's very successful, it's only then that you'll find critics cropping up everywhere!

He hasn't asked my opinon and as far as I know, I'm a mauritian blogger too. Has he asked any of you guys your opinions?

I hate anonymous bloggers who claim such and such thing is wrong without any proof to back it up. Who is he and where is his survey? And who were his targets for the survey?

Transparency is important if I'm going to believe in the survey he did on the "majority of mauritian bloggers"! MBB rules the mauritian blogosphere!

I hope he makes himself known (i have made him aware of this thread before posting) and we can get to know about that survey. I think it would be good to hear a feedback from other mauritian bloggers and what they don't like about mbb. it might help us improve, assuming there is really such a survey.

Honestly what I like about MBB is that

The users are very intelligent and you rarely get stupid posts or threads.
The users behave and there are no fights, even if there are no mods.
Every forum has a percentage of posers, but MBB has got to be the only site without posers.
Everyone is friendly.
Unlike other forums, you dont have those "typical" supposedly funny threads that have been posted in every other forums.
Digital Bin never scolds us even when we go crazy. LOL
This forum has a goal and people dont go "hi tne gete tulsi zordi?" :/
No one uses this forum as a dating site.
There are no ranks. 10 post: rookie. 20 post : bigger than a rookie, 100000 post: santa claus.
You never get mistreated here by the admins and mods.
The forum layout kicks *ss.

And blogging on a common theme is very nice. Its a game the people around here plays. And joining the MBB doesnt mean that you have to participate in every little thing here...

i think i might be biased about mbb so i will wait for the arguments of those in disfavour of it before pronouncing myself here. thank you

morinn i think it's high time you asked your friend to come up and present the survey or tell us who he is yourself. we might like to visit his blog.

hmm, let's wait for him to show up. if not then i'l' tell you. He asked me to send the link to the thread once I've posted and he is already a registered member here so there would be no problem for him to respond.

wouldn't it be interesting if those who dislike mbb could come up and affirm their thoughts instead of hiding? just my opinion. instead of making so-called surveys on msn conversations. so he talks with people on msn and he counts his votes and he calls that a survey

Let's be fair people n not bash him/her up. Everyone has a chance to speak his/her mind. If what (s)he says can improve MBB for everyone then that would be a great thing indeed§ I always welcome positive criticisms!

I welcome positive or negative criticism for that matter as well. I just want him to come out and say it and not to "carry surveys" and presenting a different view of MBB to non-members by saying that we are compelled to participate in the common theme if we want to be a member.
That will sure make people think that MBB is trying to control people's posts when this is not the fact.
