it gives an opportunity to learn about other Mauritians, so what's the
big deal .. ? and what's the purpose of doing a survey and come up with
figures and say that it's bad?

I know some bloggers who are skeptical about the MBB. That survey is real and the guys who are anti-MBB were trying to found something different for Mauritian bloggers. Unluckily for them they fell on the 'wrong' persons.
I wish to precise that I am not for or against MBB. I was a blogger and for that I appreciate MBB's initiative a great deal. It is a free service and a great place and entertainer for bloggers. (We really needed that).

There has also been talks/rumors about the MBB stealing the spotlight of the Mauritius Blog Tracker - MBT (I hope you were aware of it). I would say from what I have seen that there is a world difference between MBB and MBT. MBB is alive, interactive. And the role of MBB is different.

I hope members would not mind this post here.

Anyways.. I like MBB. It allowed me to discover more Mauritian bloggers, and discover more styles of writing. I never knew there were so many Mauritian blogs...

MBB for me is like a biiiggg Blogroll, that regroups all Mauritian blogs. That's a good idea imho. You are even provided with previews to know what the blogs are about. I don't know what's wrong with people who are anti-MBB. As always, if they don't like it, don't use it. We got many sites which function like MBB. Mauritian Blog Tracker is one. Technorati is another huge one. Heck! Even Digg is about listing other sites! That's what social bookmarking is about. You can say MBB too is some kind of social bookmarking site, huh? What's wrong in that?? Weird..

About the common theme, isn't there Blog Action Day? The global "blog on a common theme" day? If they are against blogging on a common theme, then that day must be banned?

MBB is kind of democratic wherein you can decide to write or not to write about the common theme. I myself missed like the last 3 themes. Got no time, sorry folks. Uni is eating my time, and exams are in 3 weeks! But I didn't get flamed for missing themes. So.. I don't find anything wrong here. Anti-MBB surveys are just plain weird.. :s
