how does the emtel internet service work?

I have a phone running WM and share the connectivity with my other lappy. The only issue - finding good network connectivity.

I pay Rs. 400 on a monthly basis for connectivity. I use it only when I'm not at home. Youtube plays smoothly (in HD.)

I downloaded over 2000 e-mail contents (with attachments) in 10 minutes today.

You do not need to buy their crappy modem. Your smartphone would do.

my phone is not a smart one. it's a crappy 4-year-old nokia 7200 which i love a lot for no apparent reason.
if by "their crappy modem" you mean the usb white thingy which costs 6k, then i've already bought it
and the first day itself i phoned to ask if i could return it

i might use it in times of cyclones and stuff cause my phone line stops working everytime there's rain and lightning.

BTW, if you use Emtel 3G connectivity via your phone to browse the web, youtube (2 clips per day), and download e-mails everyday, you barely use Rs. 200 (scratch card) (calls aside)

yeah i still have it. i bought it for life. lol. it's not refundable
i use a prepaid account on it, not a subscription.

Because VOD requires a lot of bandwidth. I believe your Internet would be fine on my.T though...

Yeah, ADSL2 is only good for short distances. But the 2Mbps "local" download speed is awesome!
