Re: Mauritius 24by7
The problem is transport (we don't have metros, but old uncomfortable buses) & security (anyone can get mugged anywhere).
As long as these two problems are solved, 24x7 won't gain popularity.

Re: Mauritius 24by7
yep and setting all this up might take a minimum of 5 years. i don't know if it's just me, but i don't see the hrdc putting forward those projects actively. i've seen only the adverts so far.
Re: Mauritius 24by7
there goes the people who would do things 24/7 after having wasted a lot of time studying something else.
24/7 would make a lot of unhappy people.
"anyone can get mugged anywhere"
You are a pro at this. I shall catch you
On a more serious note, the 24/7 should be applied incrementally to different sectors. Start with the tourist industry. Let's see the results first before switching all over.

Re: Mauritius 24by7
yeah flex time is very convenient. and there's the policy that the worker has to be present from say 12 to 2 at the office and the other hours at home. i totally agree with this.
i'm hoping to work on flex time one of these days

Yeah I hope too. Because I'll want my cookies when I get home...
I agree with Batman (sounds weird LOL). We should do this for one particular sector first. Tourism is a good pick, because they work in a secure environment and they get good transport facilities.

Mone fer sa ban travay 24/7 la. Aprer in peu letan to plein. To népli éna lavi familial ou bien social. To envi zis dormi kan to pa travay ek to ban camarade pa rode traine ar toi, to zamé disponible ou bien to tro fatiguer. Zis pou sa li pa sufisan.
En plis couma sa pou passer? Pauvre ti mauricien li pou travay lanuit (en fait li déza exister ar ban call centers) pou lézot pays ek accuse tou ban difficulté ek fatigue ek bon ti européen ek américain li li viv so lavi ek so travay trankil 9-17 tous les zours.
